In Early Years, we offer a broad curriculum which builds on the knowledge, understanding and skills of all children, whatever their starting points. Our Curriculum is also Language rich, developing children’s vocabulary throughout. We aim to deliver the curriculum by:
-
Using a play based pedagogy.
-
Providing a secure and safe learning environment indoors and outside.
-
Discussing ideas with children, using effective questioning and challenging their thinking when appropriate.
-
Using different levels of scaffolding to aid the children in their learning. This is done through opportunities for children to engage in activities that are adult-led and child-initiated.
-
Having a key person approach to develop close relationships with individual children. (Early Life)
-
Providing early intervention for those children who require additional support.
-
Working in partnership with parents and carers, and outside agencies.
